WFL (Werkeugmaschinenfabrik Linz) is the only manufacturer worldwide focused on multifunctional turning-milling machines, in short: Millturn technology. “Millturn” is combined from the English terms “milling” and “turning”. The integration of various machining technologies in a CNC machine brings considerable advantages. If previously several single machines were needed for the manufacture of work pieces, it can be done with one Millturn by WFL in a single operation. Extensive changes from one to the next machine and the associated clamping errors and turnaround times are omitted. A WFL Millturn therefore saves a passing period of up to 70% and approximately a quarter of the production costs.
WFL convinces worldwide with arguments as these. Prominent companies in industries such as aerospace, automotive and maritime rely on the Millturn technology just as much as the printing machine industry, the plastics machine industry and tool manufacturing industries.
WFL uses protective tube lights RL 70 with integrated ballasts for basic lighting. Advantage: The lights can be plugged in sequentially. Hence, no more tangled wires! The additional illumination of the machining area has been provided by halogen spotlights up to now.
However, halogen has weaknesses. A short service life of the bulb and a design, which often hinders optimal placement. In addition to a high temperature development; this can result in unwanted heating of the work piece. WFL and Waldmann came together in search for an optimized lighting solution for illuminating the machining area.
Compact and water-tight in accordance with IP 67, chip resistant and marginal heat development; these were the requirements. The solution: HEAD LED by Waldmann with a housing diameter of 49.5 mm and a height of 23 mm. WFL not only found the right product at Waldmann, but also a partner who objectively combined an innovative product and the customer’s specifications. The optimum mounting position and the dispersion angle were jointly defined. A HEAD LED is attached on either side of the turning-milling head. Special feature: The light always accompanies and perfectly focuses on the tool and the work piece in any situation.
