LED luminaires for the accurate determination of colour shades for teeth

Waldmann showcased solutions for dental practices and dental laboratories at the IDS.


Villingen-Schwenningen, February 2015: Natural tooth colours are important quality characteristics for dentures. At the IDS 2015, Waldmann presented LED lighting solutions with high colour rendering values which support the accurate determination of tooth colour shades - for patients and in the laboratory.

TANEO – Lighting in the dental laboratory

The numerous details of the TANEO arm-mounted LED luminaire are designed to meet the requirements of dental workplaces. In particular, the high colour rendering value of over 90 helps to recognise and match colours extremely well. In addition, the high colour temperature makes contrasts highly visible. With up to 3,600 Lux, the TANEO offers a very powerful light. If required, the light volume can be adjusted to the viewing task at any time via the infinitely adjustable dimmer with memory function. TANEO is fitted with a balanced arm-mount for greater ergonomic comfort. It is easy to adjust and always stays in position. The optimal setting for the user can also be set. Compared with conventional luminaires, the LED technology and thermal management of the TANEO saves 30 per cent on energy while providing the same light output. In addition, the long service life of the luminaire allows for maintenance-free operation of up to 50,000 hours and more.

VISIANO – for chairside lighting

Waldmann also presented a lighting solution for dental practices which is especially suited for determining the colour shades of teeth due to its colour rendering value of over 95. In addition, the VISIANO provides a homogeneous, low-shadow light field and powerful illumination with its concave light head, diamond optics and premium LEDs. Next to its 360° rotating light head, generous arm extension and four dimming stages, the VISIANO is distinguished by energy efficiency and durability. It is also certified to IEC 60601 and thus unique in its class.
