Waldmann at Orgatec 2016
Biodynamics: Light with focus on original human needs
Villingen-Schwenningen, September 2016: Light and its change in the course of the day - an ancient and basis need of the human race. It regulates our internal clock and controls many processes in the human organism. Waldmann, the pioneer of biodynamic lighting solutions, is exhibiting at this year's Orgatec from 25 to 29 October in Cologne, presenting various lighting innovations to create a natural light experience in the office.
The focal point of this trade fair presentation is biodynamic lighting - also known as Human Centric Lighting. Trade fair visitors can experience this natural lighting experience at the Waldmann stand with PULSE VTL. The manufacturer will be staging its light management system to create biodynamic lighting on its trade fair stand. This involves changes in brightness and light colour over the course of the day, in step with natural light, on a condensed time scale. From 6500 Kelvin in the morning, similar to daylight, to activate the senses, to a warm white 3000 Kelvin as evening approaches to create a more relaxed working atmosphere. All the innovations showcased at Orgatec are available with the option of biodynamic lighting.
IDOO – the new range of luminaires
With this completely new range of luminaires, Waldmann has greatly extended its product portfolio and, as well as workplace-related lighting solutions, it now offers room luminaires for the first time ever. Three new lines in the IDOO family are available for that purpose.
The unusually flat suspended luminaire, the IDOO.pendant, from designer Burkhard Schlee, has a direct light component that ensures uniform, glare-fee light at workplaces with computer monitors, while the wide-angle indirect light component creates pleasant ambient lighting in the room. IDOO.pendant is available as a standalone or integrated luminaire.
The suspended linear system IDOO.line enables individual and flexible office lighting with direct and indirect light exit as well as efficiency-enhancing reflector technology. By virtue of the modular system layout of IDOO.line, it is possible, without the need for tools, to create a combination of beginning, middle and end luminaires capable of providing different lighting concepts for offices of different sizes.
Also, the new product family includes the unrivalled ceiling-integrated IDOO.fit luminaire with a high indirect lighting component to brighten the ceiling. This innovative luminaire, either integrated or surface-mounted, known as the IDOO.fit, creates an unusual look and particularly pleasant ambient lighting in the office because of a direct component facing downwards and a soft indirect component facing sideways.
LAVIGO – now also as a suspended luminaire
The LAVIGO range of luminaires, created jointly by Jürgen Schubert and Structurelab Architekten Düsseldorf, has now been joined by a suspended luminaire. The design of this range of luminaires, one characterized by linear forms, is being extended in a logically consistent manner, complementing the LAVIGO desk-mounted luminaires and the great variety of free-standing luminaires, available as TWIN-T or TWIN-U variant, and available in various power stages. This is a requirements-led form of lighting for modern office configurations that suits different office concepts, interior design scenarios and furniture systems, all complemented by the seamless design language of LAVIGO.
