The charitable organization Caritasverband Paderborn is the sponsor of a broad range of social services in the Paderborn district, and currently employs a staff of almost 1000. In the Care & Health sector, Caritas pursues the approach of "out-patient before in-patient" and offers a multi-faceted range of services for people seeking advice and help.

The care institution Haus St. Antonius offers three stationary residential groups for ten to eleven people with dementia and ten short-term care places. It opened its doors in July 2015. When designing the new building, the focus was on keeping as close to nature as possible, giving people with dementia the best possible quality of life.

Spacious glass frontages, two internal courtyards and the adjacent garden provide a view of the natural world and a high degree of daylight exposure.

In the corridors, the VANERA LED ceiling luminaires provide glare-free illumination suitable for the elderly. With the high indirect proportion of light from these luminaires, i.e. the light reflected from the ceiling and from the upper parts of the walls, pleasant and uniform lighting is created with very few shadows.

The pleasant leisure areas will be shown in the right light by the VIVAA suspended luminaire. The LED luminaire was also equipped with the biodynamic Visual Timing Light (VTL / HCL) lighting management system. To assure the natural effect of light on important metabolic processes continuously, the lighting was supplemented in the leisure areas by biodynamic light. This energizes people in the morning and assists with rest periods in the afternoon and evening.
