An ergonomically designed workplace is fundamental to keeping the employees in good health. Lighting has a part to play in this process. 80% of all information is processed visually. It is therefore all the more important that eyes are assisted with good lighting in order to work properly. Which in turn prevents 'backache' issues.
Lighting is a 'second-tier' (i.e. indirect) tool. It does not have a direct impact, but by reducing levels of eye fatigue (asthenopic effects), it does have an impact on the muscular-skeletal system. Lighting conditions have a significant influence on the prevention of eye strain and on our ability to maintain stress-relieving postures. Lighting does this by preventing the need for cramped physical postures adopted to correct poor conditions of visibility.
After a comprehensive series of tests, PARA.MI was awarded the quality emblem of Aktion Gesunder Rücken (AGR) e.V. as a particularly suitable component for an ergonomic office workplace that promotes good back posture. The requisite minimum requirements that any lighting system must meet in order to pass a AGR test can be found on the AGR website.
The AGR quality emblem has been defined by ÖKO-TEST as 'excellent'. This independent institution conducts thorough tests on the ergonomic product quality within several medical disciplines.
