The light of tomorrow
Villingen-Schwenningen, January 2019: Healthy, sustainable and also smartly networked: These are the distinctive attributes of Waldmann's Light of the Future. The manufacturer will be showcasing lighting solutions for new worlds of work at the Eltefa 2019 trade fair, on Stand 8B12 in Hall 8. This, the 20th anniversary of the largest federal trade fair for the electrical sector, will be held from March 20 to 23, 2019.
Plenty of players can illuminate spaces. However, lighting does not become smart until the right lighting is provided in the right place at all times. This requires good planning combined with intelligent luminaires. At Eltefa, Waldmann, the pioneer in this field, will be exhibiting intelligent lighting technology, such as the digitalisation and networking of lighting systems for offices and industrial buildings, shining the right light on the future of these kinds of interior. Visitors will be able to inform themselves about the manufacturer's latest lighting solutions, already all networked together with sensors, control units and wireless technology to optimise light and energy needs. In Stuttgart, Waldmann will be going one step further, for example to illustrate how luminaires can network with devices in their environment.
Healthy and homely
The light of health: Biodynamic lighting provides smart support to health and well-being. The VTL lighting management system by Waldmann identifies the time of day and then adapts the colour temperature and illuminance value accordingly. It accurately synchronises the internal human clock, thus gently supporting sleep and activity phases. Waldmann first integrated VTL in a free-standing luminaire and visitors to the Eltefa trade fair will be able to experience its homely qualities.
From cradle to cradle
The light of sustainability: Sustainable action points the right direction into the future. Waldmann is convinced of that. For this reason, the manufacturer has set itself the target of producing consumer goods in a sustainable and intelligent manner, to be able to dismantle them into their different materials after use and to reuse them within the technology cycle. This commitment is now starting to bear fruit. The LAVIGO, which will also be on display at Eltefa, became the first office luminaire in the world to be awarded the internationally valid Cradle to Cradle certificate. All the materials used in the LAVIGO were identified. They were then evaluated in terms of their toxicological and recycling properties and, in some cases, improvements were made. As a result, LAVIGO is manufactured using 35 percent recycled material, and 85 percent of its materials can be recycled at its end of life. At the same time, it is true that successful certification is a great incentive for Waldmann to design all future product developments to satisfy Cradle to Cradle criteria.
The light of efficiency: Smart lighting solutions also entered the industrial sector some time ago. At Eltefa, Waldmann will be exhibiting industrial lighting solutions that combine greater comfort with more flexibility and enhanced efficiency. Our ACANEO high bay luminaire with integrated NEDAP wireless module is a good example of this. It can be controlled, dimmed and switched in groups by wireless. The optimum solution for renovation projects. You see, intelligent lighting systems normally need five-core wiring for control purposes. With the wireless module, it is even possible to use and connect the high bay luminaire with existing three-core wiring - avoiding the costly process of rewiring. Not only that, but it is inexpensive and easy to install, and quick to commission, so you can also enjoy cost benefits with entirely new installations.
